Orbx Announces Bastia Poretta for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Orbx's next Microsoft Flight Simulator destination is on the island of Corsica, the company has revealed, with the announcement of Bastia Poretta (LFKB) by developer Matteo Veneziani.

As it often is with Orbx, today's news is their second announcement of the week, following information about their latest Landmarks pack, which this time represents the city of Singapore. Learn more about that announcement in a previous article.

"Located on the idyllic Mediterranean island of Corsica, Bastia airport is nestled between the mountains and the sea which makes for some challenging flying conditions," the description reads. "One thing is for sure though, spectacular views are guaranteed!"

Speaking to the features present in Veneziani's rendition of Bastia Poretta, the developer says LFKB will include PBR texturing, coupled with 'high-resolution artwork' throughout the scenery.

"All new GSE and static aircraft types have been added and careful attention has been given to the apron markings, sloping runway and detailed vegetation placement to ensure a realistic as possible depiction of the airport."

The developer claims that 'innovative' night lighting techniques have gone into the scenery as well, in addition to custom wig-wag and runway effects.

Orbx promises more preview screenshots of Bastia Poretta in the coming days, with the airport currently in an 'advanced stage of development'.
