Shortly after the release of Tehran for MSFS, Aerosoft is back with another scenery, Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport. The scenery provides users with plenty of fun to be had, from landing a ridiculously big aircraft to hopping around Indonesia in an A320, the scenery is sure to have something in store for every type of flight simmer.

As with any Aerosoft scenery, the modeling and textures are really well-done, giving an eye-pleasing, realistic representation of the airport. Furthermore, the runway is located right in between the town of Labuan Bajo and the sea, don’t let this fool you as there is only a couple of meters between the runway threshold and buildings, so you’ll want to watch out for cows at the beginning of the runway. This, however, isn’t the only challenge. Because of the location of the runway, there are still plenty of objects for you to hit.

Komodo International Airport is located near the town of Labuan Bajo, on the island of Flores in the East Nusa Tenggara province. With a relatively new terminal being opened in 2015, the airport sees many flights from all over Asia, due to the island of Flores being popular amongst tourists, most of these flights originate from other popular holiday destinations. Furthermore, the airport features a 7381 feet long single runway, with a steep drop into the sea at the end.

The scenery has not been developed by Aerosoft themselves, instead, A-Flight (of Mega-Airport Helsinki fame) has taken on the task and replicated it beautifully. A lot of hours went into faithfully making the detailed ground pavement markings and the custom surrounding buildings, paired with the high-resolution PBR textures, the scenery makes for a highly immersive, optimized environment for the user to fly in.

The full feature list can be found here:

  • Detailed airport area and buildings based on an aerial image from mid-2019
  • Detailed ground pavements/markings
  • High-resolution PBR materials and textures
  • Dynamic night-lighting
  • Custom local-style surrounding buildings
  • Animated passengers in the terminal
  • Optimized for performance

For A-Flight, this marks their first foray into the MSFS development scene, and they’re doing it with a bang; the scenery is now available for $16,93 on the Aerosoft store.
