After an exclusive preview with Threshold, scenery designers AMJ Studios have released their Ultra China - Shanghai Pudong addon scenery for X-Plane 11. This follows its initial announcement in early October 2020.

The airport is said to be of very high quality, with the inclusion of SAM, static aircraft, and much more. The team also utilized the latest charts in order to best simulate the real airport. They also noted that, in a future update, they may add an interior model for the terminal.

The scenery includes the following features:

  • Accurate airport layout according to latest charts
  • Custom buildings including terminals, satellite concourse, maintenance and cargo facilities
  • Tunnels connecting terminals and the satellite concourse
  • SAM compatibility
  • Friendly FPS
  • Static aircraft including the warm-welcomed Juneyao Air special liveries
  • CAAC style taxi signs available

“The airport, about 40 square kilometres in total, is located in the east part of Shanghai and ranks as one of the busiest airports in the world”, AMJ states. “Flights from Pudong connect all continents globally, even during the pandemic”.

The team states that “the jetway type from gate 25-32 are not the same as the real operation currently”. However, they later go on to say that they will include a change in the gate configurations in a later update.

In the meantime, you can check out the scenery package which is available for $31.70 (excl. VAT) on simMarket.
