MFSG Releases Almaty International Airport for MSFS 20/24

MFSG recently released their rendition of Almaty International Airport (UAAA) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. The airport serves Almaty, Kazakhstan, and has a yearly average of 11.4 million passengers.

It was built in 1935 for civil and military aviation. Propeller aircraft operated occasional scheduled flights between Alma-Ata (Almaty's name under the Soviet Union) and other Soviet cities.

It played an important role during World War 2, logistically supporting Soviet aviation operations.

Between the 1950s and 1960s, the airport underwent modernization and expansion to accommodate jet aircraft and a new passenger terminal was constructed in 1967.

After earning its independence in 1991, Kazakhstan renamed the airport to its current name.

The airport was granted its international status in 1998 after a runway reconstruction and a CAT II certificate.

A new passenger terminal was completed in 2004, ensuring the airport could meet the region's ever-growing demand for air travel.

20 years later, they launched a brand new Terminal – Terminal 2 – increasing the airport's passenger handling capabilities to 14 million a year.

It's a hub for Air Astana, FlyArystan, Qazaq Air, Sunday Airlines, and a focus city for SCAT Airlines. Aeroflot, Air Arabia, AirAsia X, Air Cairo, Asiana Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Flydubai, Lufthansa, Neos, Qatar Airways, Rossiya Airlines, S7 Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Wizz Air, and Yakutia Airlines also serve it.

The scenery features an accurate rendition of the airport, with an up-to-date ground layout, custom groundpoly, custom photoreal terrain, custom jetways, and performance-friendly optimization.

It's available on SimMarket for roughly $15.31, requiring at least 54.95 MB of free hard disk space to install.
