AOA Simulations Releases F-35A Lightning II

Following many months of development and a few last-minute delays, AOA Simulations has released their F-35A Lightning II for X-Plane 11.

The F-35A follows the release of the F-35B some 4 years ago. Their latest aircraft was released in 2018 and is an in-depth rendition of the V-22 Osprey, which has gained quite the amount of traction in the community for it's unique design.

The aircraft, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, includes a fully animated 3D model and weapons array, FMOD sounds, a ground support equipment option, Physically Based Rendering (PBR) textures and SASL-driven avionics, including:

  • Panoramic Cockpit Display with multiple display options
  • Head Mounted Display (HMD)
  • HMD Track_IR / VR mode
  • Dynamic pilot POV camera options (non VR mode)
  • Automatic AI plane tracking pilot POV camera capability (non VR mode)
  • Functioning Auto Ground Collision Avoidance System
  • "Virtual" Ground and In-Flight Refueling capability

The aircraft includes many liveries, which can be found on the product page here. It costs US $36.00 and is built from scratch for X-Plane 11.30, and is different from their F-35B.
