Over on the Aerosoft forums, Mathijs Kok has announced a new product, Simple Traffic, for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This is not a full model matching package, rather a livery package for the default generic MSFS traffic models. This will save performance and storage space compared to high-poly 3d models

The package will work with both offline traffic and live traffic, no word on vatsim compatibility just yet. It looks as though this product was originally being designed as a package called FFAI, over on the MSFS Forums

That forum post included this feature list, however this may have changed since being acquired by Aerosoft:

  • Simple installation: single drag & drop to Community folder - no other software or modifications required
  • Online traffic mode (real world airline liveries for online traffic)
  • Offline traffic mode (real world airline routes and schedules enabling pre-Covid offline traffic levels)
  • Only airlines serving an airport in real life appear as ground traffic at that airport
  • Optimized native MSFS AI models - 50% less GPU draw calls per plane than the default A320 model
  • Can work alongside other AI add-ons / megapacks

A separate forum post was published, with a full list of included airlines. It is worth noting that some of them are only available in the online, real world traffic mode.

Simple Traffic is not currently available for purchase, however Aerosoft have said that more previews will be available in the next few days. Once it is released, Simple Traffic will cost €12.50 (plus VAT) and will be available on the Aerosoft store, however Mathijs does not see any legal reason why this product could not be brought to the marketplace in the future.
