BDO Aviation Releases Caen Carpiquet Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Developer BDO Aviation, has recently released their Caen Carpiquet International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator, located six kilometers west of the famous city of Caen.

Caen Carpiquet International Airport opened in 1938, subsequently being captured by the Luftwaffe in June 1940, the airport was eventually re-captured by Canadian and British troops in July 1944, the airport later became a public in 1967.

Bringing in nearly 300,000 travellers in 2019, the growth of the airport was very large until the COVID-19 Pandemic struck.

Alongside many other sceneries, Caen Carpiquet includes many of the "base" features, but we extracted the most interesting features for ease:

  • Hand placed vegetation
  • D-Day museum building available
  • Carefully optimized for best FPS
  • Highly detailed ground poly's
