Drzewiecki Design Released Chicago Midway (KMDW) for MSFS

Drzewiecki Design has recently released another of its highly detailed sceneries, Chicago Midway, for Microsoft Flight Simulator, adding to their growing library of scenery for the platform. As in other Drzewiecki scenery, the developer takes pride in the balance between performance and quality, bringing a realistic experience without significant FPS losses.

The history of the airport begins in 1927 in the southwest of Chicago, Illinois when the largest airport in the Midwest at the time, with the name of Chicago Air Park, was  predominantly used for American Airmail. Only in 1955, after constructing the famous O'Hare International Airport, Midway became the second-largest airport in Chicago. Today, it is home to Southwest Airlines, which handles 95% of the approximately 20 million passengers in 2019.

Drzewiecki Design has included a detailed 3D interior, and a beautifully modelled exterior throughout the airport. Drzewiecki has extensively used PBR materials to model the tower and the airport, along with dynamic lighting and night-time textures, while remaining user-friendly in FPS. The airport was developed to work with Chicago Landmarks, a package also developed by the group.

Drzewiecki has included a complete list of features after release:

  • A high-quality model of KMDW Chicago Midway, featuring the up-to-date version with extensive details throughout the whole airport
  • FPS-friendly design, with epic night textures, dynamic lighting, and PBR materials
  • High definition mesh including exact runway profile
  • Performance-friendly interior modelling at all terminal buildings, most hangars, and the control tower, static aircraft, custom animations, custom animated Jetways
  • Fully compatible with Chicago Landmarks MSFS by Drzewiecki Design

Chicago Midway Airport can be purchased on SimMarket for €19.00 (excluding taxes). If you are interested in any of Drzewiecki Design's products, you can check their large catalogue of scenery for X-Plane, P3D, and MSFS on their website.
