Orbx unveils new UK airport: Damyns Hall Aerodrome (EGML)

An english airport a day keeps the doctor away! Few minutes ago, Orbx has showcased their latest airport conversion for X-Plane, and you guessed it! Another stunning UK airport!

Decorated with vivid and lush vegetation, the latest airport is Damyns Hall Aerodrome (EGML). Orbx took special care to recreate the distinctive rural environment as realistically as possible. Boasting around 100 acres of grassland, the airport is situated 2 nautical miles south of Upminster in the London Borough of Havering, England. Feature wise, the airport will have high resolution groundwork, handtextured to 2cm per pixel and the terrain is painstakingly crafted to simulate each real-life ditch and gullies that intersect the taxiways; if you're not careful you'll end up face down in the mud!

Here are the Main Features:

  • Plant and weed species specially photographed, digitized and particle dispersed to create an incredible realistic coverage of native vegetation
  • Realistic grass system
  • 3D ground poly enabling the accurate recreation of ditches and gullies along the taxiways
  • 2 cm hand crafted ground textures
  • High definition building textures created from onsite photography of the actual buildings
  • Fully integrated into TrueEarth GB South

As per usual, the airport will be available for purchase on OrbxDirect for $24.95 AUD. Users who own a copy of the airport on the ESP platform are entitled to a 40% discount for the X-Plane version. And like all other UK based Orbx airports, its highly recommended to use it alongside TrueEarth GB South as its imagery and objects are designed to be nicely blended with the regional product.
