Orbx Release Elstree Airfield (EGTR)

Orbx have made an X-Plane 11 airport release a weekly occurrence of late, this following the release of Stapleford (EGSG) only 7 days ago. Their latest project, London Elstree Airfield, is a conversion of the existing version for Prepar3D.

The aerodrome is located just east of Watford, England. EGTR started out in the 1930s as a small landing strip and came into its own during World War II when it was used for the overhaul and repair of military aircraft. After 1945, Halifax freighters operated from Elstree and several charter companies took up residence. Since then, Elstree has become one of the foremost general aviation airfields in the country and has become a popular venue for visiting pilots.

Here's the feature list for the new scenery:

  • Incredible 1 cm, 2 cm and 3 cm/pixel ground poly
  • Countryside at 30 cm/pixel
  • Fully custom modelled airport
  • Created from on-site photography
  • Designed to be used in conjunction with TrueEarth GB South
  • Includes more surrounding autogen vegetation

You can purchase Elstree Airfield (EGTR) via OrbxDirect for AUD $32.95 (approx. USD $23.80 / €20.75 / £18.55). Note that owners of the Prepar3D version are entitled to a 40% discount.
