Aircraft development group FlightFactor have been making headlines a lot recently. An uncharacteristic streak of activity on the public relations front have lead to numerous updates to their A320 simulation, and now a sneak peek at retrofitted Large Display System (LDS) panels for their 757 aircraft.

The LDS outfit, currently in use with some of UPS' fleet of 757 and 767 planes, replaces the aging CRT displays present on original aircraft.

A UPS outfitted 757, sporting similar (though not exactly the same) panels to those posted today.

In a post on the Forum back in October last year, user Palmi asks about the potential for a cockpit upgrade coming to the 757 in future - to which FF developer den_rain claimed the team had plans for.

The thread lay dormant over the New Years break and three months subsequently, until den_rain posted again, saying:

"something is here..."

At this point, we must stress that nothing is officially confirmed. We are inclined to trust the news, as it is from a FlightFactor developer, however lack the assurance necessary to back it completely. This is partially because den_rain goes on to say "no questions... no estimates... no additional info" afterwards, with the following screenshot attached:

The screenshot shows an obstructed view of a Large Display System panel mentioned previously.

We can confirm the image is taken in-sim, as it is denoted by the title "X-System 2019...". It also appears as though the panel is in "pop-out" mode, similar to the avionics on the FF A320, where screens magnify when clicked to show more detail.

Pop-out panels were first used in FF planes in the A320, now, they appear to be coming to the 757.

You can learn more in the forum thread here.
