FlyingIron Simulations tease Supermarine Spitfire

The Supermarine Spitfire is one of the most iconic World War II-era aircraft around. Over 20,000 iterations of the fighter were built over the 10 years it was in active production and were flown by Air Forces the world over until as late as the 1960s.

Back in October, Flying Iron Simulations announced the development of an in-depth Mark 9 Spitfire. Planned features included an FMOD sound set, 4K textures, VR compatibility as well as properly modelled weapons systems.

On the same forum thread, FlyingIron have posted further previews of the cockpit texturing and a sneak-peek at some of the system modelling.

"Update Time! For this post I'm going to let the pictures do all the talking! As you can see, Alex has been hard at work and the results speak for themselves - although still very much WIP you can start to see the Mk IX really taking shape. We are extremely proud of the level of detail and realism we've been able to achieve thus far. Stay tuned for more information on what we have incorporated so far and what we have planned!"
