In Progress: Champaign-Urbana by FLYT Simulations

FLYT Simulations has announced the development of the rendition of Champaign-Urbana, a city in Illinois in the United States of America, as well as all airports within the state. The nine-hundred square kilometres of scenery will include University of Illinois Willard Airport (KCMI) and Frasca City (C16) airfield, and feature satellite imagery and detailed autogen. A Prepar3D version will also be made available for purchase.

Quoting part of the announcement on their website:

"For those just like FLYT, who has the history of virtual aviation in their hearts, you probably know that the development of early flight simulators like Microsoft Flight Simulator has its roots in this very special city. Bruce Artwick the creator of the Sublogic Flight Simulator, which became later the Microsoft Flight Simulator, started the development of this software, so loved by all of us, exactly in that region at the University of Illinois in Champaign. For us, it has been an honor and a trip in Flight Simulator’s history developing this scenery, and to recall one of the most common flights; Taking off from Chicago Meigs heading to Champaign and practicing an instrument approach at that airport is a joy!"
