Fly X Releases Doncaster Sheffield Airport

Fly X Simulations has released their latest airport, Doncaster Sheffield (EGCN). It is available for $17.99 here. It features ultra-high-resolution textures alongside a 3d terminal interior (full feature list below).

The airport features “Ultra high-resolution” textures, providing a much more realistic look, and with the modelled interior, Fly X Simulations’ rendition is extremely close to reality. Also included is custom grass textures as well as 3D grass which covers the whole airport area.

Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield is a small local airport, located between the cities Doncaster and Sheffield. It has one runway with a length of 2893 meters and is operated by the British Peel Group.

Although a passenger airport now, being used commercially by passengers, the airport started out its life as an RAF Station: RAF Finningley. The Station was primarily used as a training base during the Second World War. After the Second World War, during the cold war, the airport saw a rise in importance when it was home to Vulcan bombers. Since then, the RAF Station was decommissioned in 1995 and became a passenger airport in April 2005, opening under its current name. In the current day, the airport handled 1,222,347 passengers in 2018, primarily low-cost carriers.
