A newcomer to the Microsoft Flight Simulator platform, IslandSim have released their first airport for MSFS.

Reno-Tahoe Airport (KRNO) is located in Nevada, USA and is the states second busiest airport, with Las Vegas taking the top spot. The airport homes the national guard air division and much like Las Vegas, the city is famous for its many casinos and nightlife.

The airport takes both cargo and freight operations, from every major US carrier, including American, JetBlue and Delta. With over 30 destinations across the country, there are plenty of routes to keep you occupied.

All of this has been recreated in pristine detail by IslandSim, with the airport of course being recreated accurately, with the use of PBR textures and colour correction. However, on top of the airport, they have gone further and enhanced the city, adding some of the well-known landmarks around the airport. This is whilst maintaining almost zero FPS impact. From the images, it also seems that the interiors of the terminal have been modelled, providing further realism.

As usual, a factory standard feature list was provided by the developers:

  • Accurate terminal building, concourses, hangars, towers, and airport layout;
  • Color corrected runway and apron/tarmac textures reflecting real world;
  • Color-corrected ground textures to reflect real-world topography colours;
  • Accurate custom buildings including casinos surround airport area;
  • PBR where necessary
  • Almost zero impact on FPS and stutter-free;
  • Fully optimized for smooth simulation experience.

IslandSims Reno-Tahoe can be purchased over on the PacSim store for $24.99
