IXEG Reveal 737 Classic info For XP12

IXEG and X-Aviation have recently taken to the X-Pilot forums to announce new features and more information for the IXEG 737 Classic aircraft, which was initially released for XP11.

The IXEG has long been a bar-setter in simulation standards but has undoubtedly been showing age with the new generation of flight simulators such as X-Plane 12 and MSFS and their aircraft. Much to the delight of 737 fans, we now have much more information on the upcoming improved version of the 737 Classic.

Cameron of X-Aviation started the announcement with the reveal of an upgrade price, for most customers, the price of the updated 737 will be $14.95 while for those who have purchased the IXEG X-Plane 11 model on or after February 7th 2022, the update will be free. This has caused some tension among long-standing X-Aviation customers in the community who had an understanding the upgrade would be free for all customers, Cameron goes on to clarify this more in the announcement post.

The main new features which pilots can expect to see are as follows:

  • All-new, high-resolution 3D cabin interior
  • Animated doors
  • Wing flex
  • Ensure satisfactory flight and systems performance
  • Rework our GUI interface to a more flexible, imGUI-based infrastructure

After the initial release of the update, the team will focus on the following areas:

  • FMS
  • VNAV Prediction / Performance
  • Holds
  • Performance / Progress predictions.
  • Swap to XP11 NavData format.
  • FMOD Sound Implementation, allowing us to more easily expand our sound set.
  • New exterior 3D and high-resolution textures
  • Enhanced GUI for accommodating more robust interactions with operations.
