JustFlight took to their YouTube channel just yesterday to further preview their highly anticipated BAe 146 Professional for X-Plane 11. The aircraft release will feature all variants (-100, -200, -300, QT, QC and RAF), FMOD sounds, and 4k texturing complete with PBR.

This follows the aircraft’s original announcement in late April of 2020. Since then, Thranda Design (the team behind the project) has been hard at work converting the aircraft from its Prepar3D version. From its announcement to today, the developers have previewed the aircraft a number of times.

The British Aerospace 146, sometimes nicknamed the Whisperjet, is an iconic aircraft featuring four engines, a T-shaped tail, distinctive airbrake, short-field takeoff and its short undercarriage which the team states to have recreated it to the highest level of detail.

You can check out the full feature list on JustFlight's website. Listed below are some of the most notable:

  • Accurately modelled using real-world aircraft plans and comprehensive photography of the real aircraft (G-JEAO)
  • PBR (Physically Based Rendering) materials with real-time environment reflections for superb quality and realism
  • A truly 3D cockpit environment right down to accurately modelled seat belts and screw heads - every instrument is constructed fully in 3D with smooth animations
  • Realistic and accurate flight dynamics based on real-world performance and handling data, and input from real-world pilots
  • Authentic LF-507 engine sound set, generated using X-Plane's state-of-the-art FMOD sound system
  • Comprehensive manual with panel guide and performance data

“The X-Plane FMC unit will feature and soon after release we'll also be adding a custom coded FMC that's currently in development” the developers add.

You can also check out the video released on the team’s YouTube channel previewing the 146 Professional in action

While the team hasn’t made a release date available for the project, it does appear to be nearing the end of development. Pricing is also not known at this time.

In the meantime, you can check out JustFlight's development page for more information.
