MXI Design Releases Kalamata International Airport for MSFS

MXI Design has recently released their rendition of Kalamata International Airport (LGKL) for Microsoft Flight Simulator, serving the second most populous city of the Peloponnese Peninsula, Kalamata (Greece).

It was opened in 1959 as a military airfield, primarily serving as a base for the Hellenic Air Force. After nearly a decade of charter traffic, it converted into a dual-use facility in the 90s. A new passenger terminal was built in 1991.

The 2000s saw continuous work to upgrade and expand the airport, keeping up with the ever-rising passenger numbers, although on a seasonal basis.

It’s visited by multiple airlines during the summer, including the Greek carrier Aegean Airlines, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Condor, easyJet, Edelweiss, Eurowings, Jet2.com, Lufthansa, Neos, Olympic Air, Ryanair, Smartwings, Swiss, Transavia, and Volotea.

The scenery features an accurate rendition of the airport, with up-to-date ground markings, detailed models with PBR texturing, a basic interior on both terminals, custom taxiway signs, 3D passengers, and custom vegetation.

It’s available on SimMarket for roughly $11.02, requiring at least 1.40 GB of free hard disk space to install.
