In a forum post, Orbx Founder John Venema released multiple images of Edinburgh Airport (EGPH) as well as listing some of the numerous details and highlights. Among numerous projects highlighted at the Flight Sim Show 2019, Edinburgh is now in beta testing for X-Plane 11. Edinburgh Airport originated as the most northerly British air defense base in World War I as RAF Turnhouse. The airport was the busiest airport in Scotland for 2018 and is also the sixth busiest airport in the United Kingdom by passengers.

“In-House scenery team Gaya Simulation has faithfully recreated the busy airport using the latest techniques and features to give you the most realistic experience possible,” according to Orbx's John Venema in a post on their forums.

The post goes on to detail the many features of the imminent release which uses the most up to date information on the airport. Mr. Venema also stated: “Taking full advantage of the features X-Plane 11 has to offer, you can enjoy the impressive night lighting illuminate [sic] beautifully on the apron and also a range of animated traffic.” The airport is designed to blend in with their TrueEarth GB North product as is their standard. The airport will come with high-resolution ortho, detailed performance-friendly modeling, ground textures showing environmental wear and tear, dynamic lighting across the airport, as well as SAM jetways. The post has a large selection of images you can pursue, and we have included a small selection here.

Announced earlier this month at the Cosford Flight Sim Show 2019 and covered by Threshold, Edinburgh Airport is just one of a handful of projects from Orbx. Stay tuned for further information.
