Orbx CEO John Venema has today shown off new previews of Service Pack 1 of their TrueEarth GB series. Two of the three currently released packs are in for an upgrade, South and Central, released in October and December respectively.

In a post on the Orbx Forum, Venema details plans for a wave of service packs across all the currently released TrueEarth products for all simulators. The first item on the list is TE Netherlands in Aerofly FS2, followed by a large update to SP1 of GB South in Prepar3D, and lastly a "MASSIVE" update for users of GB South and Central in XP11.

The main drawcard of SP1 is the addition of PBR textures to the scenery pack. Venema makes sure to point out how the new textures give buildings a realistic "glow" at night.

He also promises more details about GB South/Central SP1 for XP11 will come on Monday, including new previews and a list of "the literally hundreds of new POIs [Points of Interest]". Threshold will be right across the developments, so stay tuned.
