Orbx Releases Old Warden Airport (EGTH)

Another piece to their quest for complete detailed coverage of the UK, Orbx has released another airport for X-Plane! EGTH Old Warden. The Airport is located near Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. With a history in its involvement in the World Wars, the team captures the scenic surroundings of the airport and the rich past behind it. Almost all the facilities in the vicinity of the airport has been carefully reconstructed, the real airport is a private aerodrome and operates unlicensed, being one of the few traditional all grass aerodromes still in regular use. "The Shuttleworth Collection" is an aviation museum located directly within the premises of the aerodrome.

The Shuttleworth Museum documents the history of flight from the early 1900s up to the 1950s, highlighting the changes in how airplanes operate in the pioneering years. It was rapidly developed in the first World War out of neccesity, and found uses in other areas such as Sport, recreation and business in the 1920s to the 1930s, its military use returned following the start of World War 2.

Key Features:
