Orbx Releases Skiathos for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Commonly referred to as “Europe’s St Maarten”, Orbx has released their latest destination for MSFS, this time around, taking to Greece. Skiathos is a smaller holiday island in Greece, situated North of Athens. The airport is famous with holidaymakers and more importantly aviation enthusiasts due to the low approach over a road just before touching down after the runway threshold.

Similar to many recent Orbx releases the airport is not developed by the Orbx in-house team, having been developed by independent creator Matteo Veneziani

The airport improves upon the base game’s imagery for the airport with all new 50cm/px custom aerial imagery being implemented. Also brought into full detail are landmarks as well as hotels on the island alike.

If you fancy reading the whole list of all you can explore, check it out below:

  • Complete airport and island package
  • Highly detailed rendition of Skiathos Airport
  • 2021 custom aerial imagery for airport
  • Complete with PBR textures
  • Meticulous detail landside and airside
  • Custom GSE & static aircraft
  • Control Panel for toggling static aircraft

Flights to and from the airport can take you all the way over to other Orbx destinations in Europe such as Newcastle and Edinburgh, or from slightly closer, with Gaya Simulations’ Vienna. Similarly, if you’re in the mood for even shorter flights, you can do a quick hop over in your favourite regional aircraft for a quick trip from FlyTampa’s brand new Athens, also available on Orbx.

Check out Orbx’s latest European masterpiece, Skiathos for MSFS, available now for AUD$28.36 on Orbx Direct (excluding any applicable sales taxes).
