RD Studios to Include Riverside Airshow in Riverside Municipal Airport (KRAL)

Rising Dawn Studios has announced a highly unusual and very rare addition to their Riverside Municipal Airport scenery: the Riverside Airshow 2020.

With an army of aircraft, spectators, and many other objects resembling the annual event, RD Studios has worked hard to ensure everything looks the part; for one day of the year (11th July), the airport will spring to life with the objects seen in the following screenshots.

"For the first time every in a payware addon for X-plane (or any home sim I know of), you'll get to experience a full blown airshow in your sim - done the proper way, with great attention to detail!" wrote the developer to x-plane.org.

"As ONE of the surprise features,  I'm bringing you a virtual rendition a the Riverside Airshow! With warbirds, rare aircraft, exhibition stands, and a huge crowd (well over a 1000 individual 3d figures), you'll be right in the middle of the action!

"Exhibitors include the Riverside Police Dept, AOPA, Riverside Baptist University, Riverside Veteran Car Club, and so on. The American Red Cross is also present, along with stalls for food and drinks - and to mark the special occasion, a C-17 Globemaster III of the 452nd Air Mobility Wing from the nearby March AFB is also visiting, just like in real life (with a lowered ramp, so you can peek inside)! Most of the repaints of the exhibited aircraft are based on actual repaints and serial numbers. Some are lifted from similar aircraft, but as for the 100% actual ones, you might even had/have a chance to see them in real-world airshows!"

The Helldiver simulator, a drone recording video footage, and a stray balloon make up animated parts of the airport.

For many more screenshots of the airport and some further info, see the post to the forum thread.
