SFD Unwraps Hakodate Freeware for XP11

In a surprise announcement on its Facebook page, ShortFinal Designs has announced an upcoming freeware airport for X-Plane 11. Working behind the scenes, the developer has stayed out of the spotlight until a recent resurgence with the announcement of a partnership with Stairport to create SAM AirportVehicles, and today's airport unveil is a welcoming return to the developer's roots in airport scenery development.

SFD has been a household name in the X-Plane 11 community for incredible sceneries, the developer behind SFD, Justin Kissling has known to be a rather generous developer.

Hakodate is SFD's first airport textured using Substance Painter, "I've spent the past few months learning Substance Painter (which is basically the industry standard for creating PBR textures)" Justin further explained how the airport has been a testing ground to experiment and explore substance texturing. Aside from the usual features, Justin highlights that the airport features much more immersive 3d models with proper PBR texturing.

The developer then confirmed that the airport will be released within a month. Read the original announcement and check out the full set of images on their Facebook post.
