FeelThere Drops Stuttgart International Airport for X-Plane on Their Store

Just after two weeks of their release of LaGuardia, FeelThere has brought us another major International Airport with a variety of features and many other additions to the package. This time, FeelThere has crossed the pond, over to Europe to bring their visual rendition of Stuttgart International Airport (EDDS) for X-Plane 11.

Stuttgart International was first built in 1939 to replace the deteriorating Böblingen Airport which was later occupied by the U.S. Army at the end of World War 2 in 1945. Operations were subsequently given to German authorities in 1948. It was then later used in many military operations in the future, such as in the Cold War, the airfield was used to assist any U.S. Troops that used Helicopters, the Grumman OV1 Mohawk, and many other aircraft that the army used during the war. Today, the airport forms part of the city’s known role as a transport hub. Seeing nearly 12 million passengers in 2018, it is the sixth busiest airport in Germany.

This airport is equipped with one takeoff/landing runway at a length of 3,345 meters along with two parallel taxiways. PAX operations take place to the north of the runway, while Cargo operations take place to the south. In this rendition, FeelThere has included 46 parking positions at the passenger terminal and 7 parking positions in the Cargo Centre.

FeelThere has included a wide variety and straight-to-the-point feature list that includes SAM support for marshallers and VDS. Along with that, they have provided high-resolution PBR textures for modeling the terminal buildings and other utility buildings around the airport. 3D grass has also been included to add evermore realism for the user. Whilst lighting and night-lighting are present throughout the airport, along with custom ground textures and decals running through the airport grounds. FeelThere has provided a complete feature list:

  • SAM animated jetways (SAM Suite base package required – free)
  • SAM Marshallers & Visual Docking guides
  • 3D Grass
  • High Resolution PBR Textures with transparent glass walkways
  • Custom night lighting on the airport terminal
  • Custom ground textures covering the entire ground
  •  Custom ground lines and decals throughout the airport

You can find this scenery package at FeelThere’s website for $10 USD. The releases from FeelThere so far have been a value proposition; they provide an affordable and decent customised rendition of an airport, but without the frills you expect in a flagship level scenery like from SFD or FlyTampa. You can also find all other products from FeelThere, including Tower3D and Tower3DPro game add-ons all on their website.
