SimWorks Studios Drops Another Kodiak 100 Teaser

Shortly after their dramatic unwrapping of the Kodiak 100 project, SimWorks Studios returned two weeks later with another teaser which premiered moments ago today; this time showcasing additional angles of the aircraft in an 18 second clip. The teaser highlights the intricacies of the modelling, including cargo in the cabin, and the horizontal stabilisers vibrating.

The product will be officially licensed from Daher, the manufacturer of the real aircraft. The Kodiak is a modern bush aircraft with versatile capabilities, it’s development began in 1999 culminating into its certification nearly a decade later in 2007; the aircraft is positioned in size between the smaller DHC-2 Beaver, and the larger Cessna Caravan, its modern technologies provides it with more power and performance than the older competing aircraft.

It’s worth noting that X-Plane is spoiled with a detailed rendition of the Kodiak by Thranda, who is known for overseeing Just Flight’s aircraft ports to the aforementioned flight simulator. For users stepping into the MSFS world, it seems that SWS will do justice to the venerated bush aircraft for the ESP platform.

The Kodiak version that SWS is developing is the current “Series II” which comes packed with improved door mechanisms, and external sealing with an upgraded avionics suite that contains the Garmin G1000 NXi, new multifunction displays, and compact redundant instruments.

No specific release date was provided, and the developer has dropped its initial July/August timeframe but the video has confirmed a November window for the product to be in the computers of users.
