Aerosoft Drops Twin Otter Trailer, Release Tomorrow

The development team over at Aerosoft have published an official trailer on their YouTube Channel, for their hotly awaited Twin Otter aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This aircraft rendition is Aerosoft’s 4th consecutive aircraft release in a row, the fruit of Aerosoft’s intense and ambitious investment into the platform.

While being showcased for quite some time now, the Twin Otter gets a special show-off video in preparation for the release of the aircraft tomorrow. In the video, MSFS’s icing effects are widely showcased throughout the video, highlighting the aircraft’s performance on snow with particular emphasis on the variant with skis on the landing gear. Later on, an amphibious variant was shown with floats outfitted and water animations when the plane is on the water.

Further into the video, the flight deck was explored; full steam gauges, radio screens, yoke, and other various instruments are completely modeled, down to the detail of the circuit breakers. The overhead panel is also modeled with the overhead throttle quadrant and other buttons being fully detailed.  At the end of the video, a small 3D modeled cabin is showcased.

The Twin Otter will be released tomorrow, January 19th, on the Aerosoft Website, and will be selling for €29.95. Aerosoft has made note that owners of the Prepar3D version are not subjected to a discount and will have to pay full price, due to the development process not being a simple porting process. As of now, there are no current plans to support GTN750 or PMS50.

Threshold will keep you updated on the release of the aircraft tomorrow.
