VSKYLABS Aerospace Simulations Releases Version 3.0 of Rutan LongEZ Project for X-Plane 11

The aircraft developer VSKYLABS Aerospace Simulations has released a major update for their LongEZ aircraft.

Version 3.0 is said to be a major update release for the product and includes a new G1000 variant.

According to a news post on the x-plane.org forum, the update is free for existing users and can be updated automatically by loading the aircraft in X-Plane 11.50.

“The VSKYLABS Rutan LongEZ Project is optimized for full VR experience in X-Plane 11.50, including to the latest Vulkan and Experimental flight model features”, wrote the developer. “It introduces a comprehensive simulation of the LongEZ and it was built around the original 1980's LongEZ plans and Owner's Manual.

“On top of the basic configuration, several real-world LongEZ mods and improvements were implemented: High performance rudders, Roncz canards, Aeromatic propeller simulation, Landing/Taxi lights mod, Air-Brakes (Belly and Rudder).

“Following its solid long-term development road-map which is undergoing for more than 2 years now, the VSKYLABS Rutan LongEZ Project is offering a rare and close look and feel of the Rutan LongEZ aircraft, its performance, handling characteristics and flying techniques.

  • Additional variant was added to the package: A dual 7" G1000 glass cockpit LongEZ.
  • Flight Dynamics: Fine tuning and final adaptation to the latest X-Plane's Experimental flight model.
  • Aerodynamic Rudder-Brakes mod was implemented into the flight model.
  • New Look and Feel: Extensive remodeling, re-texturing, re-mapping and enhancement of the entire project and its visual assets.
  • Enhanced FMOD sound pack: To include high quality sound engineering and interactions from engine vibrations, high Angle of Attack buffeting and overall experience.
