XPRealistic Pro V2 Released

X-Plane utility plugin XPRealistic has seen an extensive overhaul released today as part of the product's first major update in some time.

XPRealistic simulates many "realism" features that the simulator by default does not, such as flap stress, ground roll effects and head anticipation through camera effects and audio tracks.

Sprouting from a LUA-based plugin in version 1, the product has grown into a fully fledged effects tweaker and customiser in the latest edition as according to the developer, as the plugin now uses 40 effects and 120 audio tracks which are tweakable.

Version 2 is written in C++, meaning that the FlyWithLua plugin is no longer required to power this utility.

See the full feature list:

  • Stand-alone plugin, written in C++
  • Vulkan ready
  • Growing list of 40 effects
  • Over 120 sound effects
  • Multi-monitor support
  • VR support (stable ASW 45 fps are required)
  • FPS friendly
  • Top of the art [sic] user interface
  • Compatible with X-Camera, ASXP (From XP B7467 beta and up), TrackIR and most aircraft addons

The first previews of the update came in late April 2020, with the developer teasing that beta testing was scheduled for July - a target that has since been moved forward as development progressed. Learn more about the plugin and developer rkApps in an interview recorded for Threshold's Inflight podcast.

The developer has initiated a "try before you buy" scheme for owners of XPRealistic V1, with a 7-day free trial of the new version available. Once the period is up, you can choose to buy the update for $4.99 USD from the store of purchase. To discount it to the new price, see the code attached to your original invoice.

New users can purchase XPRealistic V2 from the X-Plane.org Store for $34.99 USD.
