SSG Posts New Previews of their Upcoming 747-8 Freighter V.2

Monday, May 25, 2020

Supercritical Simulations Group has just published new previews on Facebook of their upcoming 747-8F version 2 for X-Plane, in an effort to finish the 747-8 series.

The 747 is an iconic wide-body aircraft recognizable by its twin-deck, it is also known as the “Queen of the Skies”. Boeing started developing the 747-8 in the 2000s to counter Airbus’ A380 Superjumbo. Even though the aircraft was only produced 138 times, the program was highly effective at destabilising the European giant Airbus.

SSG released the passenger variant of the 747-8 last October, the product aimed at replacing the company’s older V1. It was later announced that SSG was working on the freighter version but that it would be released later on. In the Facebook post, the developer indicated that Beta testing was to start soon, thus an upcoming release should be expected.

In the screenshots posted, different exterior and interior previews can be seen such as the front and back loading bays, the crew rest compartment and the aeroplane’s tail.

A few days ago, SSG announced the development of their CRJ-700 had stopped and that it had been taken over by another development team that remains unknown as of now. The SSG 747-8i is currently on sale on the Store for $48.75 instead of $65.
