FlightFactor Releases A320 Ultimate V1

Update: FlightFactor has since posted with the following statement:

"Hi guys,

"Just to give you some information about v1. Well.. first of all, its just a number. In the sense that, as I said before, it doesn't change much in our production process.

"Why is it v1? well, its time. We didn't call the first version we shipped more than a year ago v1.0 because we were unsure of its stability over time, and because it was missing some features we deemed to be important for v1. Usually, it is customary to ship any product, even incomplete as v1 but we felt differently this time. We did fulfill most of the features we planned to, but not all. On the other hand, we added other things which were not planned, like VR support. So overall, we are now happy with the a320U as a complete product in early life cycle.

"Is this is the end? NO! It is in fact a beginning, what we had before was just a prelife of the product.
The project is still in full swing: We have several people working on this model full time and they will continue to produce updates (we have weekly updates behind the scene).

"So, expect v1.x soon 😉"

The FlightFactor A320 Ultimate has reached V1, according to a post on x-plane.org.

The aircraft has long been in a pre-release state, with features and improvements having been added since its public release almost two years ago.

V1 adds the failures scenario editor, cargo heat and smoke panels functionality, pop-out 2D windows, particle effects, and contains many other fixes and improvements.

The complete changelog is as follows:

  • CARGO HEAT and CARGO SMOKE panels functionality
  • CVR panel interaction
  • All variables in publish.txt available for writing by default
  • Pop-out 2D windows
  • Added particle effects

  • Do not advice to shutdown second engine when first engine is on fire
  • Fixed failures reset button
  • Fixed xEnviro related radar crash
  • Fixed overhead buttons textures
  • Reduced rudder pedals motion

In October, the publisher detailed what V1 means for the aircraft. Essentially, the A320 would only be named V1 once FlightFactor is satisfied with the product they have, which of course is what happened today.

Continuing to reference October's statement, Roman reassured they will continue to add more functionality to the aircraft and continue to fix bugs.

Existing users can update through the X-Updater client, with the beta checkbox unchecked.

The aircraft is available for purchase at the x-plane.org store for US $89.95.
