Colimata Announces Concorde V2 for X-Plane

Colimata has taken to the X-Plane.org forums to announce their quietly kept secret, the Concorde FXP V2, mentioning the project being in the works for the past few months.

The Concorde was a four-engined, supersonic airliner capable of crossing the Atlantic (London-New York) in less than three hours, the airliner first flew in 1969, and retired in 2003 after the economical feasibility of the aircraft was questioned, alongside large repair costs.

The announcement was accompanied with previews of the aircrafts new upcoming features, which range from systems to textures:

New Features

  • Manual route programming via the
  • 3D INS inside the cockpit
  • AviTab is shown directly in the 3D cockpit
  • Automatic or MANUAL fuel pumping

Cockpit

  • Cockpit Instruments are now better ROUNDED
  • Improved visor (textures, glass and shadows)
  • New colors of the cockpit panels
  • New shadow setting
  • Better cockpit lighting
  • DME1 + 2 plus HS1 DME now show decimals of miles
  • Bug corrections

Engineering

  • Automatic or MANUAL fuel pumping
  • New fuel trim mode MANUAL
  • Fuel dumping is now possible
  • Brake temperature calculation, gauges and lights
  • Failing brakes if overheated
  • All engineering gauges are dynamically animated

Outside

  • The corners of the external doors are ROUNDED
  •  Lit passenger windows at night

Colimata’s original post regarding the update can be found here, again to reiterate - the team announced they plan to release this hefty update around the fall or winter of 2021, the current time frame is variable. Furthermore the team mentioned that they have not decided if they will be charging existing users for the update or not.
