Frank Dainese & Fabio Bellini Release Part 4: Western Dolomites

Part 4 of Frank Dainese & Fabio Bellini's Dolomites project has just been released, marking the furthest west they've covered in their quest to remake their 2017 scenery of the same name.

Simply titled "Western Dolomites", volume four connects with the previous parts, Cortina-Cadore (part 2) and Belluno (part 3) in the south eastern area of the scenery.

The scenery canvases the tile of +46+011, a space of approximately 1200 square kilometres and is the penultimate scenery in the series.

The peaks of Sciliar, Catinaccio, Latemar, Sassolungo, Sella, Puez, Sassonger, Odle, Putia and Tullen are the main drawcards of the scenery, though visiting them requires use of the Corvara and Locher Airfields, which are both included in the scenery.

14 heliports also dot the scenery in 'strategic' sites.

Here's the full feature list:

  • 1200 sq. Km of scenic Mountain Scenery
  • Corvara Airport (XLIDO) and  Locher-Airfield (XLILU)  with14 Heliports in strategic sites. Locher Airfield is a small airport, built on a steep slope, with an underground Hangar. Particular construction difficulty because not represented in the base mesh.
  • Many valleys: Cembra,Fiemme, Fassa, Badia, Gardena, Siusi, Ega, Funes... Over 30,000 buildings positioned, with many buildings rebuilt.
  • 10  3D models and groups: Sella Group, Sassolungo, Catinaccio Group, Latemar, Sciliar, Odle,  ...
  • All the vegetation mapped
  • Inserted hundreds of polygons / textures to reproduce the photo-realistic terrain
  • Reproduced the main lift-plants, in particular the Pordoi Sass..
  • Reproduced all the main [villages] in the area: Val Gardena, Roda di Vael, Vajolet,Principe, Alpe di Tires, Bolzano, Capanna Fassa, Boè, Contrin, Antermoia, ...

As with previous sceneries, a 20% discount can be had for owners of any of the previous three parts of the Dolomites product.
