Free IXEG Sound Pack Released by Blue Sky Star Simulations

Blue Sky Star Simulations (BSS) has released a small sound pack for the International X-Plane Engineering Group's (IXEG) 737-300.

Whilst not a fully-fledged sound pack like those of the FlightFactor A320, JARDesign aircraft, or ToLiss aircraft, BSS described the sound pack through a Facebook post as "contributing to the community," presumably to aid in entertaining the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The sound pack has also been said to be temporary until the developer gets round to making a full one, if at all.

Available to download here, the install installation is X-Plane 11\Aircraft\...\IXEG 737 Classic\sounds, and BSS added: "All rights reserved to IXEG and XAviation, don't re-distribute it on any other sites or platforms."

BSS has made a variety of sound packs for multiple airliner products over the years. The most recent news was in February when a major update to the CFM-56 sound pack for the A319 accompanied the release of an IAE V2500 sound pack.

A sound pack for the ToLiss A321 is also in progress, although progress was lessened following the passing away of an important person in the developer.

The developer has advised users not to use the Vulkan beta, should users want their sound packs to be heard within the new rendering API.

On the side of the IXEG, the developer posted an update yesterday, explaining that the COVID-19 pandemic has led to full-time work being undertaken on the 737.

"We are working on the update every day as of late; however, we are still going to wait for some 11.50 stability before we release," wrote tkyler on the development thread. "In the meantime, we're cleaning up things we feel we can without putting the plane in the hangar with the major renovations like the FMS/holds/VNAV. We are back in the FMS code somewhat though and have  made the coroutes loading more robust."
