FlyTampa Releases Las Vegas (KLAS)
It has been revealed that FlyTampa has quietly released their next airport for X-Plane, Las Vegas, after just a single preview was posted to Facebook this week.
As reported on Monday, July 20, the only spotlight the group has given to the scenery was a cryptic social media post in which the described the 'Desert Oasis' as 'Bat country', a quote from the 1998 film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
A very short feature list is included on the store page:
- Las Vegas McCarran (KLAS) Airport Addon
- Airport modeled with PBR materials
- High Resolution surrounding Photo Scenery with custom mesh
- Las Vegas modeled with custom buildings and animations
- 3D Taxiway bridge, Animated Cars & Monorails
- Dynamic lighting, animated Jetways and VDGS
Las Vegas marks the latest conversion from FlyTampa, who are ramping up the pace at which they are bringing their Prepar3D airports to X-Plane. Previous to this, Copenhagen was the last to see the light, in a similarly quiet release schedule. You can learn more about that airport in a previous article.
To purchase FlyTampa's Las Vegas for X-Plane, see the store page here, where it's available for $32.00 USD. It's the group's most expensive listed addon, likely because of the work that has gone into the surrounding cityscape.
*some images in this article are of the Prepar3D version of the scenery, as very few screenshots are available.
