Just Flight has begun to port their British Aerospace 146 to X-Plane, according to Martyn of the respective simulation company.

The aircraft, simply named '146 Professional' for the Prepar3D simulator, was confirmed for X-Plane back in January of last year.

The core of the aircraft is still being developed for Prepar3D, although it is not expected to take as long to port to X-Plane.

Writing to the x-plane.org forum, Martyn confirmed to users that "work is underway on the XP11 version of the 146," and it is expected to be another collaboration between Just Flight and Thranda Design.

The duo has worked together on all past Just Flight releases for X-Plane, and with the Vulcan having been released only two weeks ago, it is therefore logical to assume a similar process will follow for the British Aerospace 146.

Furthermore, it was stated in another comment that the 146 is not to be released for several months. "It's still in the early stages of development so unlikely to arrive before late summer," wrote Martyn. "We'll start sharing some previews shortly."

As a result, the 146 could be Just Flight's first airliner to make its way into X-Plane, with other projects such as the Boeing 747-200 Classic, Airbus A300, and Fokker F28 in the pipeline.

The British Aerospace 146 is one of few jetliners designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom. Across its 23-year production span, 221 of the 146 variant were produced, with the Avro RJ accounting for a further 166 for a total of 387.

Its dihedral wing configuration, four Avco Lycoming ALF 502 engines, and rear airbrake are characteristic and allow it to operate on short-haul flights and on shorter runways. Combined with its ability to fly steep approaches, it is one of few airliners capable of landing at London City Airport.

Just Flight are available to follow through three social media channels: Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
