Trailer & Beta Screenshots of Aerobask's Lancair Legacy RG

As news surrounding Aerobask's latest aircraft, the Lancair Legacy RG picks up as it closes in on release, a new trailer and screenshots from beta testers have become available.

The project was initially that of Skunkcrafts, the same developers behind 2018's P-51 Mustang and the Skunkcrafts Updater. The Lancair Legacy RG was announced not long after the launch of the Mustang, but lacked regular updates going into 2019.

Taking over the project in February 2020, Aerobask - who typically work very closely with Skunkcrafts - claimed that the 3D and texturing work already completed would need to be redone, setting a release window of June 2020 "should no major problems arise."

Over the past two weeks, the X-Plane.org Forum thread has been alive with entries from beta testers sharing screenshots of the new aircraft, in addition to a list of changes made to the Legacy RG since the beginning of the private beta run. A selection of screenshots from beta testers have been spread throughout this article.

In the latest activity on the thread, Aerobask contributor Harranssor shared the Lancair's trailer, made by YouTube creator Fly777X. It is available to view below:

"Coming soon" Harranssor said, maintaining the release ETA of June set previously in a short message following the trailer's posting.

Per an earlier post, the Aerobask Lancair Legacy RG will contain the following features:

  • Highly detailed 3D model interior and exterior
  • PBR 4K textures
  • High quality FMOD sounds from Daniela Rodríguez Careri, based on custom recordings from Legacy reg. N637PG
  • High accuracy flight model by X-Aerodynamics (tuned for standard flight model)
  • Real and custom 4K liveries with assorted interiors
  • Stock but highly realistic GNS530
  • Native support of RXP GTN750 in replacement of GNS530+SL70 (Windows only, separate product needed)
