In a Threshold exclusive preview, scenery designers AMJ studios showcase their upcoming Shanghai Pudong scenery for X-Plane 11. This is the group's second scenery after releasing Shanghai City 5 months ago.

The scenery is a close rendition of the real airport, utilizing the latest charts to recreate everything from stands, terminals, taxiways, runways, etc. The package also ships with high quality static aircraft which are accurately placed around the airport.

The real airport is one of the two primary airports in Shanghai, and serves as a major hub in East Asia, with just over 74 million passengers served in 2018 - it is the third most busiest airport in China, fifth businest in Asia, and either busiest in the world. While Pudong primarily caters to international flights, the other airport, Hongqiao focuses on domestic and short hault flights.

AMJ Studios has provided a standard-issue list of a modern scenery product:

  • Accurate airport layout according to latest charts
  • Custom buildings including terminals, satellite concourse, maintenance and cargo facilities
  • Custom ground textures and markings
  • Tunnels connecting terminals and the satellite concourse
  • SAM compatibility
  • Friendly FPS

Designed to nicely complement their Shanghai scenery released 5 months ago, AMJ will offer a bundle package, offering the airport and the city together.

The developers haven’t announced an official price or release date. They do however plan to release the scenery exclusive to simMarket, Threshold will keep you in the loop for further developments.
