Verticalsim Studios Pauses Myrtle Beach Development; Focusses on Tampa International

Scenery developer Verticalsim Studios has spoken out about their plans going forward in the short term.

Through a post to their Facebook page yesterday, the developer expressed their analysis of the current flight simulation market: "[...] it seems the airport market has shifted away from regional airports being financially feasible to not really being financially feasible anymore."

As a result, the developer has chosen to focus on much larger airports, such as Tampa International.

Verticalsim continued by saying they have decided that as a result of the change in demand, development of Myrtle Beach (KMYR) has been paused.

"As developers making major U.S. airports has slowed to a very slow speed and is in need of a rival.

"Thus, I've decided to postpone KMYR - Myrtle Beach, and try to complete and finish KTPA - Tampa Intl. right before or after the Christmas holiday. KTPA has been in development for two years now and I believe it's time to finally complete it."

In closing, the developer said: "I hope this doesn't upset anyone and hope you can understand the dire situation."

Very rarely does a developer express their views and deviations in development based on changes to customer demands; many choose to plan ahead for a few years and only make what they want to.

The developer updated their Houston Hobby freeware last month, and released their rendition of a global tree replacement package a week later.

All updates are posted to Verticalsim Studios' Facebook page.
