FlightFactor A320 Ultimate Updated with Vulkan Support

The A320 Ultimate by FlightFactor has been updated to version 1.1.0, adding support for the Vulkan rendering API and fixing a few bugs.

The update comes just days after X-Plane 11.50 went final, which saw the leap to the modern rendering APIs Vulkan and Metal that better utilise today’s hardware.

FlightFactor’s A320 Ultimate has been in beta testing in this new environment for a few weeks already and becomes the first aircraft in their fleet to officially support Vulkan.

According to an announcement posted to x-plane.org, saving and restoring popout panel layouts, saving reflection effect setting, and the spring-loaded INT/RAD switch have all been fixed in this update.

This is in addition to joystick axes curves and beta/reverse support.

Within the same thread, lead FlightFactor developer ramzzess noted: “full thrustmaster support is coming in a few days.”

This is presumably for Thrustmaster’s TCA Sidestick Airbus Edition that became available around a month ago and seen widespread adoption of Airbus fans alike.

The update is, as usual, available to grab through the included X-Updater, and the aircraft is available to purchase from x-plane.org for US $89.95.

FlightFactor, in the meantime, is working on a brand new ‘Pro’ aircraft that is as yet unrevealed. Further details available here.
