FLYT Shares Champaign-Urbana City Scene Status Update

FLYT's recreation of the Champaign-Urbana metropolitan area will be their first city-scene product for both Prepar3D and X-Plane, following numerous airports in South America released as freeware.

The Champaign metro area is located a short two hour drive from central Chicago and is home to the University of Illinois, in a suburb aptly called 'Campustown'. The University name also appears on the local airport, colloquially referred to as Willard Airport.

The Brazilian scenery maker started work on the region in January 2019, promising not only to make an accurate rendition of the city, but also the two airports immediately surrounding it: the aforementioned Willard Airport and Frasca City Airfield.

In a post made on the group's Facebook page, developers took the chance to highlight the sheer amount of work completed already, saying that over 500,000 trees have been placed to date.

Work is in no way nearly finished, though, with the current 45,000 buildings and 40 separate HD points of interest set to be joined by many more in future updates.
