FSDreamTeam Updates Vancouver International (CYVR) for MSFS

Ten days ago, FSDreamTeam released their take on Vancouver International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Coming in at US $9.99, it is one of the cheaper international airports released thus far for the new simulator, but FSDT is still honouring it as a worthwhile purchase with an update that was pushed through yesterday.

Writing to Facebook, the developer described the update as “massive”, adding that it is now “completely updated to 2020”.

Highlights of the changes made include the addition of the Pier D extension complete with interiors, an airside operations building, and various additions and changes to ground markings on taxiways and runways.

The changelog in full looks like this:

  • Main Terminal Pier D extension added, complete with interiors.
  • Airside Operations building area added, including a working Wind generator.
  • Updated and added ground details in the West De-icing pad.
  • Added D5-D7-D9 taxiways at the start of RWY26L.
  • Added displaced threshold to RWY26L.
  • Added overrun areas to runways 13/31 ends.
  • Added Windsocks and ILS antennas.
  • Updated background and aprons around the former fire training area.
  • All Ground Markings for parking spots updated to current visual style.
  • All parking spots positions and numbers updated, to match current 2020 charts.
  • Many ground markings added or updated.
  • Added several GA parking spots in the south area of the airport.
  • Many new vehicle paths added or updated to match the airport changes.
  • Updated Magnetic variation to 2020. Fixed all ILS auto-approaches.
  • Added HSBC logos to jetways.
  • Added more varied textures for shops in the terminal interiors.
  • Fire Training airplane moved.

The update is available now by running the FSDT Live Update, the post concludes.

Vancouver is not their first airport for MSFS, however.

That title belongs to Chicago O’Hare, with Key West Airport following not long after.

FSDreamTeam is well known in flight simulation for their product GSX, which enhances the realism of Prepar3D at airport stands.

A preview of GSX was published in August, but as MSFS Simconnect is not complete, the developer is unable to proceed much further with the addon.

This was stated yesterday in the same Facebook post about the update to Vancouver International.
