FlightFactor Shares Progress on 777V2 at FSExpo

Roman from FlightFactor represented the team at FSExpo 2021, sharing neat factoids to begin the seminar including that FlightFactor is the longest running development group for X-Plane.

The Obvious Standards

Roman started his detailed presentation by laying out the general standards for their up and coming 777V2, with the basic fully functional FMC double (triple) redundant, going as deep as they can go with systems, have a more detailed model, texture and function, closest flight dynamics (mentioning an engineer is working on this right now) and finally conceptually new sounds, which will be directly from FMOD which will enable the team to code in sounds to the simulator seamlessly.

Detail in depth

Continuing his presentation, Roman brought the presentation over to the subject of detail and the amount that Flight Factor is planning on going in- depth.

Firstly including an ability to configure passengers, choice of detail level - more specifically an ability to change weight extremely in depth or simple aswell, and finally a choice of policy.

This part of the 777V2 is a variable feature per se, the user can go extremely in depth with many systems, and other crucial pieces of the aircraft or just fly the aircraft in a simple manner.

Failures and Scenarios

Furthermore, one of the many awaited features to be discussed was failures and scenarios - Roman started the small but informative part of the presentation by going over the various depth of features that could be toggled in the aircraft.

From fuel temp sensor’s to full out engine failures, the depth of the 777V2 seems to be quite deep, which will be a user pleaser.

Exterior Inspections and Ground Handling

Spearheading through the presentation, Roman's next subject was Exterior Inspections and Ground handling, this subject is covering the team's interactive walkaround's, and surprisingly in-depth Ground Handling set-up.

Let's start off with the Exterior Inspections, the developers provided some plugin screenshots of the interface currently in development for the aircraft - this was said to include visual queues and to be fully interactive - which appears to be one of the first for the current X-Plane simulator.

Furthermore, Roman began talking about the teams ambitions for their ground handling aspect of the aircraft, the main features so far will be; all possible ground equipment, fully 3D and functions, and finally interaction with ground personnel, including four different computer generated voices (high-quality) which now add variation throughout the aircraft.

Some Extra's and Conclusions

Nearing the end of Roman's seminar, he touched on some final features included in the aircraft now, like scenario's, CPDLC & ACARS, Maitenance pages and monitoring pages.

Scenarios are mostly self-explanitory, but FlightFactor's are slated to include Full Save & Load, Return to last flight, Save selected states - these features are seen throughout most payware aircraft now, but still remain a crucial feature to addons.

CPDLC & AHARS, are probably something you don't know about unless you are like Roman and type rated in the 777, CPDLC being (Controller Pilot Data Link Communications) and AHARS (Airborne Heading-Attitude Reference System) will be compatible with the 777 alongside being in a single authentic interface.

And maintenance pages, and monitoring will be included into the 777, and you will be able to access the pages if you are either above 10,000 feet or on the ground, the main features are slated to include; the user has access to all maitenance pages, for monitoring and bug reports.

Multi-Crew concept was the final slide before the end of the presentation, this just covered that this is NOT a multi-crew system, A way for a pilot to experience the crew co-operation in flight, help recognizing system and learning the cockpit, and finally audible and visible responses from the first officer.

Concluding the seminar with a cockpit shot which is below

GE-90's were also confirmed by Roman after doing a sound preview of the engines spooling up and back down, furthermore no mention of release date or price was mentioned by the team, and would not like to give an estimate at this current time.
