iniScene Release Heathrow for MSFS

iniScene has released their highly anticipated rendition of Britain’s Busiest Airport. Featuring much of the airport’s instantly recognisable features such as the Emirates A380 model situated in the centre of a roundabout as well as the legendary Concorde situated at the threshold to runway 27L. Also to be explored in the scenery are over 10,000 cars scattered around the airport, 2,500 custom placed lighting fixtures and hand colour corrected ortho imagery. iniBuilds announced Heathrow Airport (EGLL) was in creation by their scenery department (iniScene) at the start of this month with a short video teaser. This teaser was swiftly followed with a longer trailer showcasing the airport in a comprehensive video. Now, not long after the trailer, today’s release marks the release of the scenery, now available for £17.99.

Worried about your FPS while flying in or out of this dense area? Fear not, iniScene states they have taken an “aggressive” approach to optimising the scenery with heavy usage of LOD (Level of Detail) models and “meticulous” optimisation throughout the whole scenery package.

Also available for users of MSFS on the Xbox, is a further optimised rendition of the scenery making usage of the scenery ideal for Xbox simmers. Although Heathrow is not yet available for Xbox, the scenery is said to be with Microsoft for their long-winded approval process, after which the scenery will be available on the in-game marketplace.

  • 80+ custom modelled and textured POIs and buildings in and out of the airport boundary with accurate PBR texturing.
  • 10,000+ custom iniScene car models scattered throughout parking lots outside of the airport boundary.
  • Aggressive performance saving methods featuring LOD model optimization (Level of Detail) and meticulous optimization where possible throughout the scenery.
  • Full Xbox compatibility and optimization when purchased on the Microsoft Store for Xbox only.
  • 5 accurately-placed jetway variations with realistic PBR texturing and animations.
  • Hand-made ground polygons featuring custom decals, dirt, taxi lines and ground markings.
  • Over 430 custom made and hand placed taxi signs dotted throughout the airfield as in the real world.
  • The main airport landsides with ground markings and lighting faithfully re-created.
  • British Airways Concorde G-BOAB faithfully recreated and on-display before runway 27L.
  • Over 2,500 individually placed accurately colour toned airport lights scattered around the terminals.
  • Accurate logos and real-world decals are scattered throughout the airport to promote a true to life feeling.
  • Custom-created, accurate and known landside points of interest such as the landmark Emirates A380 and Turkish Airlines roundabouts.
  • Hand-corrected, colour accurate ortho imagery.
  • Hand-placed bespoke ground service equipment at each gate featuring over 2,000+ containers, 2,000+ cargo dollies and a plethora of various static equipment.
  • Animated points of interest including radio towers and construction cranes.

iniScene’s Heathrow Airport is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator for the price of £17.99. 

Xbox users will be able to pick up a copy of the scenery on the Marketplace following Microsoft’s internal reviewal process. No estimated length has been given for this period so far.
