IXEG 737 Ready for Update Once 11.50 is Stable

Following on from news out last week about IXEG's new 3D toolchain, the developer has taken to the X-Pilot Forum to announce that an update with these compatibility fixes will be coming soon.

Tom Kyler was once again the heralder of the news, explaining on the development thread that the update was essentially the aircraft run through their new conversion tool chain to bring the 737 Classic up to modern day, X-Plane 11 standards.

An example of the visual changes in this update.

According to IXEG's last status update from last week, the tool chain was devised by Laminar Research's Ted Greene to convert the model from IXEG's old methods to new ones, as the developer's original workarounds have been rendered incompatible with current-day X-Plane. Kyler explains it thusly:

"From our perspective, its validation of our current tool chain, [for example,] we can output code and flight model/3D changes quickly with modern tools, being that the entire product has been generated from this new tool chain.

"From the customer perspective, it is mostly compatibility changes to the flight model given the changes in X-Plane 11.50, with a few visual enhancements added-in as able and tweaks to the co-route loaders, scrollwheel support, etc."

The specific "visual enhancements" set to be included in the update range from the re-done engines featured last week to other animations and, depending on time frame, work done to the front galley and main door. The developer says that if these improvements can't be finished before X-Plane 11.50 becomes a stable release, they'll be included in a separate update set to be pushed out 'soon thereafter.'

Visual improvements have been made to the engine model in particular.

Besides this, the development team is scouring the forums for other issues that can be addressed for the 11.50 compatibility pack in the unused time between now and the next X-Plane update.

Also underway is work on the VNAV system and holding in the flight management system, though that won't be ready in time for this update.

Kyler finishes with this message to customers and supporters of the groups: "I am supremely grateful for our patient supporters and we will continue to work on making the IXEG the most immersive airliner simulation available."
