Update: LeborSim unveils detailed Beirut city modelling

Here's one freeware project you definitely don't want to miss! A few minutes ago, LeborSim of their famed Beirut scenery in MSFS has shown off new images of their Beirut city scenery, detailing the "scenery evolution" of the city centre modelling.

The team has used OSM as the base for custom 3D building modelling and placement, the result is an entire city filled with model based buildings which is accurately placed and lines up well with underlying orthoimagery.

You can see from the following images, the detailed custom models, and the OSM based facade-buildings.

Note: the buildings with checkered patterns are models that are untextured and is supplemented with a placeholder image (the checker pattern) as the texture to test out any warping/UV mapping flaws.

Scenery will be freeware, we cannot wait to hear more of the project's progress. Their original facebook post is as follows:

Hello friends,
The week is over and it's time for us to share with you some screen captures of the scenery evolution.
Here you can see a custom and detailed Beirut downtown replacing slowly the generic OSM buildings.
Cheers!
