Orbx Releases Panama City Pack MSFS

Orbx returns to city-making, taking focus off aviation and essentially bringing the maritime scene in MSFS to life with the release of Landmarks Panama City Pack. This well known city is an important supply route, saving mariners the need to navigate the notoriously treacherous waters around the southernmost tip of South America, known as Cape Horn. The city is most recognisable by the canal that enables ships to take this short cut and shave around 8,100 miles off their voyage.

Looking at their provided images, it’s safe to say this scenery looks impeccable, with the usual level of detail we have come to expect of Orbx. Although this location is mainly known for the Panama Canal, it must be said that the canal itself certainly was not their only focus. For the most part, the surrounding city and its landmarks are modeled, and done so accurately. From High rises to stadiums and all the vegetation between, Orbx assures customers this is a “must-have scenery upgrade”. See their full key feature list below:

  • All five canal lock groups, modeled in high detail, from the Cocilo Locks on the Pacific coast to Gatun Locks on the Atlantic side.
  • Historic and administrative canal buildings and monuments, plus the Agua Clara Locks Visitor Center.
  • Special focus on the approaches to the canal, including container, oil, and cruise terminals, control towers.
  • More than 50 different types of static vessels, placed throughout the canal and port areas.
  • Detailed models of the Centennial Bridge and Atlantic Bridge, crossing the canal.
  • Custom landmarks in Panama City include the historic Casco Viejo district, as well as modern towers such as Bellagio and The Grand Tower.
  • More than 60 medium-detail custom buildings of Panama City: highrises, museums, government buildings, stadiums, etc.
  • Several buildings with rooftop helipads, with additional landing areas on vessels throughout the canal.
  • Animated features and special effects on both water and land.
  • Custom orthoimagery for downtown Panama City and the north and south ends of the canal.
  • Many enhancements throughout the coverage area: improved vegetation and building placements, extensive terraforming, and shoreline adjustments.
  • Custom night lighting based on real-world photography.

Unlike the Panama Papers, it appears this scenery will not disappoint. With such a large area covered, this product should leave users with much to be explored. Should you be interested, this can be purchased at $9.80 USD on the Orbx website. Check out their facebook page for further updates and comments.
