On this week’s edition of No Money Mondays, our focus goes to the beautiful Pacific as we look at the amazing freeware rendition of New Ishigaki Airport in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan by keisim for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

New Ishigaki Airport was built to replace the old Ishigaki Airport, which was suffering from issues relating to its close proximity to the city center, and its short runway of just 1500m (4921 ft). Plans for a new airport for Ishigaki airport have existed in different forms since 1979, but traction gained in the early 2000’s, and after community opposition, a compromise was made on the plans and construction started in 2006. The airport opened 7 years later in 2013, and featured a 2000m (6562 ft) long runway, being able to fit larger modern jets. Today, the airport serves eight different destinations on seven carriers, the largest being All Nippon Airways.

The simulator rendition of New Ishigaki Airport boasts a large number of features, including:

  • Domestic and International Terminal with 3D interiors and glass jetways
  • Control Tower
  • Cargo Terminal
  • Airport Fire Station
  • Japanese Coast Guard Office and Hangar
  • Realistic landside with Rental Car Area and parking
  • Approach lights
  • Accurate apron markings and signage
  • Realistic Night Lighting
  • And more!

You can pick up this amazing scenery and add it to your simulator world via flightsim.to. You can also watch the trailer for it on YouTube!
