Orbx unveils EGHI Southampton, complimenting TrueEarth

Following their highly successful TrueEarth South GB release, Orbx is ready to unwrap their latest airport port to X-Plane, courtesy of the masses requesting for more airports to come to X-Plane. Complimenting the coverage of the TrueEarth product, the team revealed that they've been converting their Southampton Airport scenery for X-Plane 11.

Originally developed on the ESP platform, the airport was recreated by 29Palms and released under Orbx. The airport itself is located northeast of the city with the same name within Hampshire England. Orbx's rendition will be a feature-packed product done in exquisite detail. The airport's distinctive brick-paved tarmac, and the surrounding industrial buildings, and hotels are faithfully replicated. As with the real airport, regionals such as the Q400, 737s and E-Jets are made for this destination.

Feature List:

  • Super detailed brick paved apron
  • Fully custom modelled airport
  • Detailed Ford Southampton plant
  • Fully blended into TrueEarth GB South
  • Realistic night, apron, taxiway and approach lighting
  • Many custom local buildings
  • Compatible with World Traffic 3
  • Realistic static aircraft
  • Ground personnel
  • Animated ground services

Unlike most other Orbx products, the airport will function properly without TrueEarth, but users wouldn't get the best experience and may encounter misplaced forests, missing buildings around the airport and discrepencies in orthoimagery blending into the default/ortho4xp textures.

EGHI Southampton Airport will be available to purchase from OrbxDirect soon for AUD $32.95 (approx. USD $24.35 / €21 / £18.50)
