Eagle Rotorcraft Simulations' Bell 505 Coming to X-Plane

Helicopter fanatics and many other aviation enthusiasts in the X-Plane community should be aware of the Bell 429 that is available for free.

That specific aircraft was primarily developed by Eagle Rotorcraft Simulations, and ported to X-Plane by Thomas Woods.

The helicopter has since received contributions by other users, including the likes of DrGluck, behind Terrain radar, and Yoyoz of Aerobask.

It has been confirmed today that Eagle Rotorcraft Simulations is now looking to port the Bell 505 JetRanger X to X-Plane and other simulators.

These recent previews were posted to their Facebook page recently, and it is expected further renders will follow in the coming days and weeks.

Eagle Rotorcraft Simulations said the helicopter will be handed over to Woods once they have completed their part in developing the aircraft.

The developer primarily makes a range of aircraft for FS2004, FSX and P3D. They have also collaborated with others to realise various projects for other simulators.

Examples of aircraft developed range from a McDonnell Douglas DC-9, to a Piaggio P180 Avanti.

The Bell 505 JetRanger X is a light helicopter with the ability to carry one pilot and four passengers.

It has a clean-sheet design when compared to previous Bell aircraft, and can cruise at up to 125 knots for around 306 nautical miles.

Moreover, more than 200 Bell 505s have been built since 2014, and retails for around $1 million.
